Entertainments |
The Village of Tresparrett (originally Rosperuet
or Paruet) stands above the Valency valley, which runs three miles
down to the sea at Boscastle Harbour.
Although we've no shop or school, there is a well attended Methodist
Chapel at one end of the village and a Pub at the other.
In North Cornwall, Those Inns and Public houses
that are not situated to take advantage of the tourist trade, are disappearing.
The Horseshoe Inn is one of the few remaining that depends on local
custom, and blessed we are that the village still has a heart.
The Horseshoe Inn has been a pub since 1977.
Prior to that, it was a house & blacksmiths (hence the name) which
were knocked together into one to become the village shop. It took many
years to obtain a license to turn it into a pub because of opposition
from some villagers. Thanks to Bert Mason's tireless efforts the license
was granted in 1977.
